A Short Guide on Crowd Testing

What is crowdtesting?

Companies must change : they have to adapt to new consumption patterns, digitalize their know- how and integrate this into every dimension of their structure. It also means working with the Y, Z, "digital natives" generations. For these generations, freelancing is becoming a norm. In some sectors, freelance work is growing faster than salaried jobs and in the United States the number of independent workers has increased by 85% in 10 years. In France the word "uberization", which broadly conceptualizes the idea of freelancing, was one of the most used terms by the media in 2016.

The platform economy, based on the crowd concept, is the next new industrial revolution. Numerous start-ups have based their business model on this concept. It is about using the know-how of a community of people to offer a service. Crowdfunding is one of the oldest concepts of crowd: it allows entrepreneurs to seek funding for a project or venture by raising money from a large number of people who each contribute a relatively small amount.

With regards to digital testing, crowdtesting is a QA test platform model: a worldwide crowd of testers can be reached in order to test a digital product and to receive their feedbacks on bugs, the ergonomy, and the functionalities, before it is deployed. In addition to making professional relationships evolve, it offers multiple advantages such as answering testing needs that can be arduous to solve during a classic lab test campaign. Crowdtesting is the new major trend in testing.

CROWDTESTING IS THE TRENDY QA SOLUTION THAT CAN HELP ORGANIZATIONS ENSURE THAT THEIR DIGITAL PRODUCTS OPERATE PERFECTLY ON THEIR TARGET MARKETS.
