Ludovic Grémy, Digital Factory Manager at Française des Jeux®
TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS
The shift do digital was fully embraced by FDJ® to enable users to play from anywhere, at any time, from any device (smartphone, tablet, phablet, computer): digital is at the heart FDJ®'s strategy. Within the "Client and Innovation" Digital Department, the Digital Factory was set up to implement all of FDJ®'s digital projects: converting retail outlet games into digital formats, providing new online games on webistes and mobile apps. Clearly, setting up all these new games require heavy back-office management (platforms, management and game engines).
WHAT ROLE DOES TESTING PLAY IN THE WAY YOU MANAGE YOUR PROJECTS ?
With FDJ® instant gaming services, it is essential to ensure integrity, fairness and the best quality user experience. Therefore, testing is vital to all digital production. Our industry requires a high level of security and flawless quality, similar to what's expected in the banking industry. So performance, quality, and integrity tests are conducted or managed by our in-house teams, we then outsource final user acceptance testing to StarDust, this ensures the quality of all our digital projects (responsive websites, mobile apps and user account interfaces). For our illiko® games, which are based on a tight-flow production, StarDust provides ongoing support. As a reminder, between 25 and 30 projects were tested in 2015, including about 15 new Responsive games and remodeled existing ones.
HOW DO YOU WORK WITH STARDUST?
Throughout the years, we have built a real partnership. StarDust provides its expertise in acceptance testing and its device knowledge. Given our large-scale production, [FDJ® counts 26.3 million customers], the whole French population in its whole should be able to access our digital products, so we must guarantee impeccable quality on the widest range of configurations. Therefore, StarDust tests all our projects and also ensures on-going Quality assurance by running continuous tests on each new OS/browser.
